This eye-catching necklace features a gorgeous Euchloe Ausonides butterfly, aka the Creamy Marblewing, collected In April 1978.  Set above it, is a peridot gemstone and beneath it is a cluster of green tourmaline crystals. The chain is 24 inches. This necklace comes in the gold box shown with the original specimen tag.

In many cultures the butterfly is associated with the soul. In Greek myth, Psyche (which literally translates to mean "soul") is represented in the form of a butterfly. Because of their dramatic transmutation through metamorphosis, butterflies also represent rebirth, transformation and change.
Peridot is the birthstone of August. It is known by three names: Peridot, Olivin and Chrysolith.” Peridot is believed to be a stone of protection and cleansing. Its meaning is focused on helping you stay clear of people with a bad influence on you or to minimize their influence. It is also believed that peridot has the power to increase your assertiveness and independence, making it easier to realize your dreams by following your own path.
Green Tourmaline, also known as Verdelite, is believed to be Nature's best healing crystal of the physical heart, channeling its electrical energies into the center of one's being and creating a flow of wholesome energy to all parts of the body and self. It is the masculine, or yang counterpart to the feminine heart energies. As a stone of energy and stamina, Green Tourmaline is excellent for anyone in occupations where vigorous activity is required.
