This peculiar pendant features a real preserved Venus Flytrap gilded in gold. An amethyst gemstone sits in its mouth. On one side of the Venus flytrap is a larger cut amethyst gemstone and on the other side is a shard of amethyst crystal. This necklace is 20” in length and comes in a gold gift box.
The Venus flytrap, Dionaea muscipula, is a carnivorous plant native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the United States in North Carolina and South Carolina. It catches its prey—chiefly insects and arachnids— with a trapping structure formed by the terminal portion of each of the plant's leaves and is triggered by tiny hairs on their inner surfaces. In dreams a Venus flytrap is indicative towards a very strong and powerful woman. This plant has been grown with love in my own personal garden.
